In 1987, a factory in Gistel, Belgium that had assembled recording devices for the manufacture of precision optical lenses since the early 1970s began modifying pen-plotters for use in vinyl-cutting applications. Today, the evolution of that company is Summa, Inc., formed in January 2000 after the merger of AirMark, Inc., WestComp, Inc., and CalComp Display Products, Inc. (formerly Summagraphics). Along the way, we’ve revolutionized printing and cutting technology and become a recognized global leader in our industry. Learn more from our company history timeline.
